ZEDO Inc, is inviting Database Developers to join our fast-growing team in India. We are looking for experienced professionals to contribute to the development of our online ad serving solutions. Responsibilities
• Design database schemas for high performance, high availability database
• Perform daily operation check routines, assess database capacities by monitoring online storage, growth and file system space
• Create database instances, manage and populate data, relational and object tables, and provide definition for table space structures.
• Development and optimization of SQL Scripts and queries.
• Work with the QA team to ensure proper quality level or database operation is used for functional and regression testing
• Perform deployments across the Development, Testing, Staging and Production environments, as well as adopt and maintain change control processes across all sites
• Investigation and resolution of database bugs
• Adhere to ZEDO Software development standards for enterprise systems
• Evaluate effectiveness of software components to identify areas of system improvement
Critical Skills
• Experience with Database clustering and replication would be considered as a plus point.
• Strong database designing knowledge and good organizational skills
• Must be able to work on multiple projects at once, and flexible to handle changing business priorities
• Work collaboratively and proactively with cross-functional teams, as well as work alone on projects
• Demonstrate an ability to identify creative and long-lasting solutions to challenging business problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience & Education
• Must have experience with databases with at least 10 million records and 5GB in size
• 2+ years doing hands-on database designing, SQL development and query optimization
• Experience with Unix system administration on 2 or more of: Linux, Solaris, BSD, HP-UX, AIX
• Knowledge of systems, shell scripting
• Familiarity with 2 or more of the following RDBMSs: Oracle, Postgres, MySQL 4, DB2, Sybase, MSSQL, Informix, Ingres, MaxDB
• Hands on experience with the operation of source code control systems (CVS preferred) and code branching
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
