Drishti is a media, arts and human rights organization that has transformed and strengthened the communications strategies of countless leading Indian NGOs and social movements, in order to extend their reach and to increase the participation of marginalized communities.
Drishti pursues two strategies simultaneously. We aim to integrate a strong media, arts and communications focus into as many human rights, gender and development organizations as possible. At the same time, we enhance the potential of community members themselves to make their own media and cultural products. In our fifteen years of work, Drishti has entered into over 60 short-term and long-term strategic partnerships with organizations to execute projects in our key program areas: Community Radio and Video, Film Production, Theater, Public Arts, Campaign Creation and Development Communications Trainings for social action groups.
Drishti’s documentary films on human rights issues have been seen throughout the world, and its training programs for grassroots communities have empowered thousands of rural people.
