In 1996, the Group launched a dealership for General Motors in Mumbai and subsequently added another in Bangalore. With the success of these dealerships, the GMS Group partnered with Honda to set up a dealership in South Mumbai in 1998. Subsequently, the Group has expanded its operations with Honda to include three additional sales and service outlets across Mumbai. Today, Ichibaan Honda is a well recognized and appreciated brand in the automobile segment.
Our showrooms are situated at key locations across the city, Lower Parel to service south Mumbai, Chembur to service central Mumbai and Kalina and Andheri to service the West and North of Mumbai. Our facilities include sales of new and pre owned cars, servicing as well as a body paint facility for accidental and repair jobs.
Starting in early 2005, the Group professionalized its management team and further expanded its Automobile business with a Service Centre for Volvo Commercial Buses and the launch of two additional dealerships with Mahindra Renault.
One of our significant achievements has been our tie up with Budget Rent a Car. We are the master franchisee for their auto rental and leasing business in India. Budget Rent a Car, is an industry leader and continues to appeal to value-minded renters by offering quality vehicles and a rewarding rental experience at nearly 1,900 rental locations worldwide.
Our most recent partnerships have been with the world renown Volkswagen brand. GMS will now represent the Volkswagen brand in Mumbai and other cities across the country through their brand, Presidential Cars.
